In the Patch 2.3.0 PTR Campfire Chat, Blizzard confirmed that basic material costs for Masterworking ranks 1 through 4 and resets will be significantly reduced in Patch 2.2.2. These reductions apply also apply to all non-
Obducite and non-Gold materials. While we don’t have any specifics yet on the exact costs, the main goal behind this decision, according to Blizzard, is to ensure that materials other than Obducite and Gold don’t bottleneck the system, even for players who frequently reset and redo their upgrades.
