[Icy-Veins] Lair Boss Guides: A New Chapter for Diablo 4’s Endgame

Post by NewsBOT »

Diablo 4’s Season 8 is going to significantly change the endgame. If you have not caught up yet, now might be a good time to learn more about the new Lair Boss System. We have just published detailed guides to walk you through everything, including the new bosses introduced this season. The old endgame boss system has been restructured into three distinct tiers:
Initiate, Greater, and Exalted Lair Bosses. Key Changes to the Lair Boss System Image
  • You no longer need materials to summon a Lair Boss; just walk in and fight. This also allows you to abandon the fight easily if the difficulty is too high.
  • However, you do need materials/keys to open their loot chest, which means every player in the group must bring their own.
  • Farming them repeatedly is slower now. After the fight, you will have to open the hoard before the altar reappears for respawning.
  • It is still uncertain if material/key drop rates will increase in the open world to compensate.
Learn more about the system and the ladder of bosses in our dedicated guide: Lair Boss System Guide New Lair Bosses in Season 8 Image We have also added individual guides for Season 8’s new bosses. Some of them are directly connected to the Vessel of Hatred expansion, which you will require to take on the fight.
  • Urivar: Remember this twisted Knight from the Vessel of Hatred campaign? He is back and a lot more dangerous. This is a dodge-heavy, mechanics-driven fight.
  • Harbinger of Hatred: Another Vessel of Hatred boss. With its big portals, angry wolves, and the Akarat light mechanic, this fight is simple to learn but can be punishing.
  • Belial: Our Season 8 headliner. Belial has multiple forms, just as you would expect from the Lord of Lies. He can show up during Incursions or in his own lair dungeon as an Exalted Lair Boss. Each version plays a key role in the season’s core loop.
