Former Blizzard President Mike Ybarra has publicly shared sharp criticism of Diablo 4’s current development direction, urging the developers to rethink how they handle seasonal content, end-game design, and expansion pacing. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Ybarra expressed concerns that Diablo 4 is stuck in a cycle of rushed seasonal launches followed by long periods of patchwork fixes, which he believes damages long-term player engagement. “Don’t ship to check a box,” he wrote. “Seasons need to get off the cycle of shipping, spending 2 months to fix issues, then repeating.” End-Game Feedback: “It’s Fundamentally Not Fun” Ybarra didn’t hold back when pointing to what he sees as Diablo 4’s core problem: the end-game. 2) Pause and give the team time to really address the end-game issues. Playing for a week to then 1 or… https://t.co/Na1zfjUvJS— Mike Ybarra Image (@Qwik) April 9, 2025
