The USMG Charter

Our mission, vision, history, and the values that have guided this community since 2008.

About

Founded on November 14, 2008, US Military Gamers (USMG) stands as one of the oldest continuously operating military-veteran gaming communities in existence. For over 18 years, we've provided a stable, respectful, and drama-free home for gamers who serve—or have served—alongside those who support them.

USMG is a non-competitive, community-first gaming network made up of active duty, reserve, guard, and prior-service military members, civil servants, and civilians from every branch of the U.S. military and from around the world. We exist for one simple reason: to enjoy gaming the way it should be—without toxic behavior, inflated egos, or unnecessary nonsense.

From day one, USMG was built on the belief that gaming should be an escape, not another stressor. We're here to play games, unwind, and connect with people who share that mindset.

Our Mission

The mission of US Military Gamers is to provide a relaxed, welcoming, and non-competitive gaming environment while fostering camaraderie, mutual respect, and a strong sense of family among military members, veterans, and their civilian counterparts.

Our History

US Military Gamers was founded in November 14, 2008 by Terrell "Pakman3000" Pakeman, who saw a clear gap in online gaming at the time. Frustrated by the chaotic and often toxic nature of Xbox Live matchmaking, he envisioned a place where service members could unwind, connect, and enjoy gaming without the noise.

What began as a small group of like-minded Xbox 360 players has grown into a global community of several thousand members, with an active presence across many of today's most popular games. While gaming—and the world—has changed dramatically since 2008, our core values have not.

Our Vision

Our vision guides everything we do and defines how we grow—intentionally, responsibly, and with purpose.

  • Members: Provide a safe haven where military gamers can relax, speak freely, and engage in meaningful conversations while being treated with dignity and respect—and extending that same respect to others.
  • Community: Give back to both the military and gaming communities by sharing relevant information, maintaining strong public ties, and supporting charitable and volunteer efforts within the local communities of our members.
  • Family: Treat every member as part of an extended family. We support one another through the unique challenges of military life—both during service and beyond. We proudly welcome civilian members, recognizing that their freedoms are the reason we serve and that they stand watch at home while service members answer the call.
  • Staff: Lead by example. Uphold the mission, enforce high standards, and continuously improve the community. Our staff exists to serve the members and ensure USMG remains the premier long-standing military gaming community.

Today & Beyond

US Military Gamers continues to grow and evolve while staying true to its roots. We remain committed to providing a positive, respectful, and enjoyable gaming environment for military gamers—one built on experience, stability, and trust earned over time.

Plenty of communities come and go.
USMG has stood the test of time.
